The returning season to racing with the Fiat 500s in 2008 also allowed me to meet new people and among these I met Marco Baroncini, who soon became like a new brother! We became very close friends and we decided to race for the 2009 season in the Italian Endurance Touring Car Championship CITE, endurance races to be held with 2 drivers with mandatory driver change.
We decided to race in the N2000 Class with a BMW 3 Series and we chose Diego Gabelli’s PAI Team. The races would be a total of 16 and were held on the most important tracks in Italy such as Imola, Monza, Mugello, Misano, Vallelunga, Adria and Varano de ‘Melegari.
The Championship was a success, victories and podiums, which saw us as winners of the Absolute and Class title thanks to 9 victories and 6 podiums with only one time withdrawn.
Another very important aspect for me that took place during 2009 was to get to know another person, Manfredi Ravetto, a recognized International manager who also became a close friend. Manfredi was manager of many racing drivers, and was also Team Principal for F1 Team, Formula 3000, WEC Endurance etc. and our friendship allowed me to get his help to return to drive proper racing cars.
